Puppy Cam is Here!
The Puppy Cam is up and running with Bunny’s litter! The babies just moved to their larger puppy pen this morning and are still getting settled. We’ll add toys and beds, etc. as they become more mobile. You can follow along at https://www.myearthcam.com/willowspringshavanese.
Bunny’s Puppies are Here!
On Nov 27th, Bunny had five absolutely gorgeous puppies! For the first time ever, she had an all male litter, so I’m calling this our Handsome Lads litter. 🙂

You Can’t Have it! Keep Away Havanese Style
One of the many great things about Havanese is their playful personalities. While they don’t need a ton of exercise, they do definitely enjoy a romp. One of Mabel’s and Trip’s favorite games is “you can’t have it!” It starts with me throwing the frisbee (which you can see by its condition what a favorite it actually is) for them to bring back. Whoever gets to it first tries to bring it to me, and the other one tries to prevent it and steal it for themselves to bring to me:
Mabel is younger and faster, but Trip is ruthless and tends to win the majority of the time:

Iris’ Glamour Shoot
Today is a raining day here in Raleigh. It’s a very nice break from the heat, but it doesn’t allow for much outside time for the puppies to get some entertainment. So, I decided to do a photo shoot with Ms. Iris! We put some pearls on her (which apparently are great to chew on!) and got out a pair of high heals:

Puppy Ball Pit!
It’s important for puppy social development that they stay with their litter mates until at least 10 weeks of age. But by the time they’re about 8 weeks old, they start becoming less easily entertained by what’s in their puppy enclosure. We do take frequent field trips to the front porch or back yard for play time, but they still sometimes get bored. Enter the puppy ball pit!
The Puppies are Here!
We have four beautiful Havanese puppies! It was an all night process but Bunny did a fantastic job and all four babies are doing great! There are two males and two females. Individual pictures are to come, but here’s a group shot for now:
Mabel is a Champion!
I’m pleased to announce that Mabel is now CH Willow Springs Maybe its Maybelline! She finished in style with 5 straight wins, including Best of Breed over specials!
Backyard Play Time
We’ve been going out into the back yard every evening so that the puppies can run around and be a crazy as they want. It’s also a good time for them to have interaction with the other dogs. Big sis, Mabel, thinks it’s as much fun as the puppies do! You can’t catch me is their favorite game:
